INTRODUCTION:

A medium voltage Encapsulated Dry Type Transformer is one that does not require any liquid to cool naturally. They are equipment that uses ambient air as a means of cooling (as well as insulation) of its windings and other components.
Its main function is the same as that performed by transformers immersed in insulating liquid, that is, adapting the primary voltage levels for those used in industries, residences and enterprises in general. However, it is possible to highlight multiple benefits that position the Encapsulated Dry Type Transformer as the most suitable solution when meeting current energy needs.

CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Powers up to 10,000 kVA.
  • Voltages up to 36 kV.
  • Windings in Al or Cu.
  • Class F.
  • IRAM - IEC - ANSL standards.
  • Cabinets with different degrees of IP protection.
APPLICATIONS:
  • Distribution
  • Industries
  • Buildings
  • Power generation plants
  • Traction
  • Oil & Gas
  • Mining
  • Naval
  • Creation of artificial neutral
  • Cogeneration
BENEFITS:
  • Ecological and recyclable products; they do not have insulating fluids with potential for environmental impact or toxic gas emissions; in addition, 90% of the total weight of the transformers can be recycled, the main manufacturing materials being steel, iron, aluminum and copper.
  • Minimum maintenance; the maintenance process is reduced to simply checking the torque of the connections and minimal cleaning; This makes the costs of doing this activity low.
  • Low installation cost; the simplicity of installation and connection, added to the simplicity of the requirements of the room that houses them, make dry transformers the least costly and effortless alternative.
  • Retrench of space; they are compact compared to transformers immersed in insulating fluid;
  • High security; in the presence of fire, they have low flammability and lack toxic gases that endanger the environment and human life.
  • Long useful life; Thanks to the materials used in their construction, the transformers have excellent characteristics to cope with overloads, short circuits and overvoltages.
